Bristow
Runway and apron rehabilitation projects have been deferred until year. Partial apron
rehabilitation project was completed last year.
Cushing
On-going maintenance of existing infrastructure. Completed seal coating the entrance road and
the hangar taxiway.
El Reno
Completed the concrete apron project which included the addition of twenty tie-downs. Banking
money for future projects.
Kingfisher
OAC approved a $400,000 grant to go toward the $927,375 project to construct a 2,800’ paved
runway and connecting taxiway. A future runway lighting project estimated at $114,980 is also
planned.
Max Westheimer
$2.5 million project replacing the final portion of 70+ year old concrete ramp is underway. This
contract also includes improvements to the emergency vehicle entrance, reconstruction of a
portion of Hangar 104 apron, south apron flood lighting, and the installation of an 8’ chain link
fence around the perimeter of the airport. October 15 Fly-in was successful with approximately
3,000 people in attendance.
Wiley Post
Runway 35R ILS project is complete and awaiting final approval from the FAA to put the
equipment into service. Taxiway C and C1 rehabilitation project complete. $1.2 million signage,
lighting, and paving at C.E. Page is underway.
Perry
Crack sealing project is completed. Project to overlay 1/3 of the runway is scheduled for this
year.
Stillwater
Air Traffic Control Specialist Evan Kaiser of Stillwater Tower received the prestigious
“Terminal Air Traffic Specialist of the Year” from Air Traffic Control Association in
Washington DC earlier this month. We are all very proud of Evan.
Stillwater Regional Airport Authority approved Letter of Agreement with USAF for installation
and testing of a new design build Deployable Instrument System on Runway 22. This system
will be the prototype for D-ILS for the US Air Force military deployment. The system must be
capable of fitting in a C-130 transport to be delivered, unloaded and set up operational by two
personnel within 120 hours of delivery. The testing is schedule for summer of 2012.
Stillwater Regional Airport officials and the USAF are closing an agreement which will provide
a Deployable Radar System including approach control services at Stillwater Regional Airport.
Ongoing discussions are in progress with FAA Airspace officials and the Air Force to implement
the service. The D-Radar Center will be one of two units in the United States which the Air
Force will use to provide readiness training for air traffic personnel for deployment abroad. The
Stillwater D-Radar system is scheduled for startup in May of 2012.
Contractors will begin construction on the South Parallel Taxiway and Apron Realignment at
Stillwater Regional Airport in late December of 2011. The project was awarded to TTK
Construction Company Inc and is scheduled for completion in the summer of 2012.
Shawnee
The new terminal construction at Shawnee Regional Airport is complete. A dedication ceremony
was held September 9 with OAC Director Vic Bird and Governor Fallin in attendance as special
guest speakers. The approximate $3.5 million parallel taxiway project is complete. The bid has
been awarded for the $3.5 million runway rehabilitation/lighting project. Construction should
begin before the end of 2011. October 15 “Pilots & Pancakes Fly-in” was very successful.

Bristow – Resurface of runway and Apron is underway. 1 t-hangar spot vacant.
Chandler- project for fuel self-service system for 100 low lead is nearing completion.
Cleveland – relocation of golf course cart paths adjacent of the airport, paths were an infringement of runway safety zone.
Cushing- ramp area expansion project continuing. 3 new hangars completed.
El Reno – Preliminary design of apron project.
Guthrie- Edmond Regional Airport - funding approved for 10 unit t- hangar, bids for construction take place next month. Fencing and gate project completed.
Will Rogers - 3 taxiways closed for reconstructive repairs. Parking garage now open. General Aviation terminal near completion.
Wiley Post - Federal stimulus project for hold short signage on airport. Infrastructure for large corporate hangar development area on north end of airport nearing completion.
Norman- Hosted NIFA competition completed last week. Successful turnout for the 3rd annual Aviation Festival last week. Pre construction meeting for the PAPI light project this week.
OKC Page – complete reconstruct on Taxiway A4.
Pawnee – E/W runway closed, new rodeo arena in its place.
Shawnee – Terminal project project -joint funded by an OAC grant and Economic development grant.
Stillwater - Dedication of runway 17/35 after runway rehab project that began June 1. The $5.9 million Project was paid for by FAA administrative grant, part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment act of 2009.
Stroud – Service road project complete. Future CIP funding for improvements to the airport are being discussed.

The following items were reported by Regional Director David Scott of Will Rogers World Airport during his term. ***********************************************************************
1/22/2009 Central Region Airports Update. I requested information and updates from 11 of the central region's airports. As of this date, I have received input from 5 airports. Thanks to all who responded, and to those who haven't yet, I will be in touch.
Guthrie-Edmond Regional Airport Update. Improvements at GEOPORT include implementation of a new height hazard zoning ordinance; completion of 2 taxilanes for access to 3 new T-hangars; engineering/consultant selection process underway, and design for a new taxilane to 8 new corporate hangars is ongoing. Also, on the security front, the purchase of a new card swipe entry system for airfield access is being purchased.
El Reno Regional Airport Update. Infrastructure improvements include an apron construction/rehabilitation project. Airfield drainage improvements are underway. The road from El Reno to the airport is scheduled for re-paving and improvements.
OU Max Westheimer Airport Update. Runway 17/35 has recently had a $2.5 million rehabilitaion and 4" overlay. Included with the project was a crack and seal coat job for the north ramp and Taxiway A. Installation of PAPI's for all runway ends and supplemental wind cone with segmented circle are scheduled for the upcoming year.
Sundance Airpark is a privately-owned, public use, fully-staffed full service airport which continues to thrive in central Oklahoma. Sundance provides a 5001'x100' concrete runway and approaches with a full-length parallel concrete taxiway. Other aviation-related amenities include T-hangars, corporate hangars, fuel services with competitive prices, land available for future airport development and a state of the art terminal building for tenants and transient traffic.
Will Rogers World Airport Update. Parking garage construction and taxiway extension project work continues at WRWA. Additional taxiway rehabilitation is planned for Taxiways E, F, G and K. New Flight Information Display systems (FIDS) have recently been added in the terminal concourse. Newly refurbished 54th St is now open providing additional access to the airport from areas to the south, east and west. Perimeter road construction is slated for the relocated perimeter fence on the approach end of RWY 13. WRWA is also the subject for an upcoming article in AAAE Airport Magazine. Be sure and check it out.
