OAOA to Kick Off Birthday Year Celebration

The OAOA Quarterly Meeting on October 17 will mark the beginning of a year-long celebration of the formation of the organization and culminating in an official 25th Birthday Party late next year.  Anyone who has ever been a member or a friend of OAOA or has an interest in aviation is invited to attend and renew old friendships or make new ones.   Following the 11:00 am business meeting, lunch and Birthday Cake will be available by RSVP (approx. $10 per person - RSVP to:  director@okairports.com or 405-802-6263).

Anyone who knows how to contact past members is asked to contact them and encourage them to join us.

Twenty-five years ago this fall our co-founders, Peter Van Pelt, George Hargett, and Bob Barnard, began formulating and gathering interest in what would come to be known as the Oklahoma Airport Operators Association.  After a year of organizational activities, OAOA was officially incorporated in December, 1984.

After lunch and the Birthday Greetings, a program will be presented on Airport Environmental Issues and Updates by Derek Blackshare of Blackshare Environmental Solutions; Knowing Your Law Enforcement and Educating them on Airport Basics by Walt Strong, Airport Administration, OU Max Westheimer Airport; and the Duties and History of the Aviation Department  by Drew Hamilton, Wiley Post OK Highway Patrol.
