STILLWATER OFFICIALS DEDICATE AIRPORT RUNWAY REBUILT WITH STIMULUS FUNDS

OKLAHOMA CITY - The Stillwater Regional Airport can now bring in the
"big boys," thanks to a recently completed runway project that was paid for
by federal stimulus money.

City and state officials and long-time supporters of the airport as well
as kindergartners from Stillwater's Sangre Ridge Elementary School gathered
earlier this week to celebrate the official grand re-opening of Runway
17-35.

Pilots and aviation enthusiasts in east Tulsa are preparing for the third
fly-in of the year Saturday at Harvey Young Airport, an event they hope
will spark improvements at the 93-acre general aviation landmark.

Chip Taylor, director of operations for Aviation Management Group, owner of
the privately held airport, said he expects 50 aircraft and 300 people at
the fly-in. Nonfliers and the general public are invited, Taylor said.

A development project at Wiley Post Airport will provide new space to park
corporate jets.

Construction crews are working to add electricity, plumbing and taxiways to
40 acres on the northeast side of the airport, at North Rockwell Avenue and
West Wilshire Boulevard. The lots will be leased to people or businesses to
build private hangars, airport manager Tim Whitman said.

The plane crash Saturday that killed five Tulsans was caused when the

A small plane on its way to Dallas for the University of Oklahoma football
game crashed into Chandler Park amid foggy conditions Saturday morning,
killing all five Tulsans aboard.
